Long gone are the days when Rap Music actually carried a positive message. From Public Enemy to KRS 1, rappers valued life and their fellow man and now it's all about Money, Power and 'Respect'
I personally feel that it has been stolen from the 'people' and the point ha been missed. I thought rap was a platform to stand on and make a clear, positive point and educate the young and old alike but it seems to have been 'bastardized' by the greedy, corporate system that profits from the pain and misery that this cruel and ruthless shift in direction that 'Rap' has taken...
There should be an equivelant to the 'Nobel Peace Prize' and my personal nominations would be -

Dwight Arrington Myers[2] (May 24, 1967 – November 8, 2011[3]), better known as Heavy D, was a Jamaican-born American actor, rapper, record producer, singer and former leader of Heavy D & the Boyz, a hip hop group which included G-Whiz (Glen Parrish), "Trouble" T. Roy (Troy Dixon), and Eddie F (born Edward Ferrell). The group maintained a sizable audience in the United States through most of the 1990s. The five albums the group released were produced by Teddy Riley, Marley Marl, Pete Rock and Eddie F.[4]

".. Funny and witty and so easy to relate to.. I was only young but I knew what he meant!! Bad boy!!
